Headphone Bleed Control is a Max For Live device designed to help reduce headphone bleed during vocal recording sessions. HBC works by applying an EQ which is only active while Ableton is recording. 

Often the high frequencies of sounds like hi-hats and snare drums can be most problematic, applying some shelving EQ to the top end of the beat can help eliminate some of that bleed while still allowing enough volume in the headphones for the artist to achieve their best performance. 

The device can be placed anywhere in a project, usually the master bus, across the whole beat or drum group and does not affect the sound except when Ableton’s record mode is active.
